Senior Software Developer

Job title: Senior Software Developer (.Net)

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location: Karachi, Pakistan



Senior Software Developer is responsible for developing and supporting .NET/C# projects, ensuring commitment and quality through to completion. This highly responsible position involves using established work procedures to analyze, design, develop, implement, maintain, re-engineer and troubleshoot software applications.


Job purpose

The role is part of the technology team and will be responsible for implementing moderate to complex software or web applications.


Key Skills:

  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in IT Infrastructure and/or software development
  • Strong knowledge and experience with. Net development, cloud computing services & infrastructure including Linux, MacOS and Windows OS
  • A solid understanding of OOP principles
  • Experience of using .NET CORE for developing microservices and applications
  • Strong hands on experience in .NET C#, CORE 2.2 2.1, Entity Framework, Angular 4+, AWS Services, experience in building Microservices, DOCKER and Orchestration, JavaScript, Bootstrap, MVC
  • Experience in frontend and backend is necessary
  • Strong SQL and NOSQL experience necessary. Strong experience in MSSQL, DynamoDB, Couch DB are the minimum
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team
  • Experienced in building distributed high load solutions (load balancing, caching etc.).
  • A flexible approach and ability to adapt
  • Experience of working to and applying agile methodologies
  • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
  • Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Ability to quickly learn new languages, technologies & tools
  • Design patterns experience
  • Worked on JIRA or Confluence tools

Duties and responsibilities

You will have the following duties & responsibilities;


  • Use Microsoft technologies: C#, ASP.NET, SQL, MVC, and Microsoft Workflow to develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
  • Design, code, test, debug and document software according to the functional requirements
  • Develop, maintain and support programs/tools for internal and external clients
  • Analyze, diagnose and resolve errors related
  • Help define project plans requiring software development and hardware installations
  • Provide technical and project management expertise across multiple areas of application development
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
  • Investigate operational or systematic problems and user queries as required
  • Follow all department standards and methodologies
  • Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, senior management
  • Communicate effectively and clearly, in writing and verbally, in one-on-one and group presentation situations
  • Strong ability to effectively lead a team

Skills, Qualifications and Experience


  • Minimum 10-15 years’ overall relevant experience of web & software development, implementing functionality, ad hoc system analysis and coding
  • Preferably Product Development experience in Financial Services or Banking industry
  • Working exposure of UK, US or European market is a MUST



  • Minimum bachelor’s degree from a leading university with concentration in Software Engineering or Computer Science preferably from LUMS or well reputed UK, US or European university
